Recently I have worked with local service user groups in Knowsley to collaborate on creating masks, roses, and bunting for The Cinders Ball to celebrate The Everyman & Playhouse community event.
Last year I contributed to Halewood Community Festival by organising Scarecrow making workshops and designing a scarecrow trail leaflet.
Each year we set up family workshops as part of The Halewood Country Fair. In past events all ages had a chance to make clay boggarts; willow & paper butterflies and leaves; and recycled bottle flowers & snakes. Who knows what we will think up for the next one.
I have organised and run after school workshops within Halewood since 2005. these use drama games, drawing, writing, 2D and 3D sculpture techniques, recycled materials, and explorations of the natural habitat.
Halewood Park is a beautiful part of the Mersey Forest, containing a diverse range of artworks. To celebrate and promote the park I was funded by Halewood Town Council to research, photograph, and map the park. I wrote an introduction to the leaflet, incorporating some history and contributions from locally sourced poets and writers. Finally I designed the leaflet and organised the printing.
